The Electri-Sky Quilt Pattern
Do you like traditional block-based quilt patterns but like more contemporary designs, too? Are you looking for a bold new quilt pattern you’ve never seen before?
Maybe you’d like my new pattern. It’s my first quilt pattern, and I’m really proud to finally put it out into the world.
The Electri-Sky Quilt is a nature-inspired quilt with a traditional alternating block composition, but it’s definitely got that je ne sais quois. Something electric, idk.
It comes in three sizes: baby (42”x42”), throw (70”x70”), and throw+borders (80”x80”).
Here are some cool details: the scrappy baby size version of the quilt leaves you enough scraps for a scrappy binding. Very cool. The scrappy throw size version leaves you enough scraps for a scrappy border (the 80”x80” size). Also very cool. I really like using up my scraps.
It’s full of HSTs, HRTs, applique circles, and pieced curves. If curves scare you, making twelve of these Moon Blocks will turn you into a pro in no time. (Click here for my tips on piecing curves.)
Need some inspiration? Let me share some mockups:
I have a feeling this won’t be my last nature-inspired quilt, or the last time I’ll be incorporating applique. I had a lot of fun with this one. I hope you will, too.
